Vegan Chocolate Walnut Slice

You don't have to be a vegan to enjoy this slice! It's got no added sugar, healthy, fresh and full of nutrients.


1 cup oat bran
1/4 cup raw cacao powder
3/4 cup raw walnuts
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds (pepitas)
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
2 scoops chocolate flavoured pea protein powder
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup coconut oil
  1. Place nuts and seeds in food processor, process until breadcrumb consistency.
  2. Put processed mix, cacao powder, protein powder and oat bran into large bowl with the coconut oil and stir in. Add the water, half at a time until a wet dough consistency.
  3. Press into greased/lined baking tray and bake at 150C for 12 minutes.

Pea protein has the same nutritional profile as whey protein, it's isolated from yellow split peas and is vegan friendly, more alkalising to the body and just nutritionally better than other protein sources.

Coconut oil has some saturated fatty acids like Capric Acid and Lauric Acid that raise the level of high density Lipoproteins in the body, lowers bad Cholesterol, boost immunity and fight ageing. They also increase the rate of metabolism and help shed weight.
