Dairy Free Avocado Chocolate Mousse Delight

Avocado Mousse

This is a simple food processor recipe that is a fantastic alternative to a sugar laden after dinner treat or dessert. It can be served on its own, as an accompaniment or with fresh seasonal fruit.


  • 2 ripe avocados (deseeded and flesh removed)
  • 3 tablespoons of raw cacao powder
  • 1 tablespoon of honey (or rice malt syrup for GF)
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup of dates (pre-soaked in 1/4 cup of water)
  • 1 vanilla pod (seeds extracted)


  1. To make mousse, simply combine avocado, raw cacao powder, honey, cinnamon, drained dates and vanilla in a food processor and blend until smooth.

Note: The mousse is meant to be smooth and light in consistency, this may take a couple of goes processing and using a spatula to ensure the mixture has combined.
