Vitamin A is important for maintaining the health of your skin and your eyes. Another form of this vitamin is beta carotene. Vitamin A is found in foods such as eggs, liver and diary foods. It is also converted from carotenes in the body e.g. from yellow, red or green plants. Long-term deficiencies in vitamin A can result in the skin becoming excessively dry, which makes the skin more prone to infections and wrinkles. However, too high doses of the vitamin can have equally detrimental effects on the skin , lips and hair.
