Importance of diet to your skin

Food contains micronutrients which are essential in small amounts to keep our body functioning properly, including our skin. Micronutrients include vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B, copper and zinc. No single diet or specific food is responsible for building up or maintaining the skin - the key is a good balance. When diets overemphasise one food in preference to others, this has the potential to deprive you of essential nutrients. So make sure you have a balanced diet.

Carbohydrates provide glucose which is essential for the construction of new cells and healing. Choose complex carbohydrates such as vegetables, fruits and cereal grains. Cereal grains are also a good source of B-group vitamins, vitamin E, iron and zinc. All great for good looking skin!
